Shrub or small bushy trees, evergreen, upto 4 m high 
Bark smooth, yellowish-brown, lenticellate in younger parts. 
Leaves 3 - 6 cm  length and 2 - 2.5 cm broad. 
Leaves elliptic-tomentose beneath, acute at apex, rounded, or tapering towards base; petioles 3 - 5 mm long, glabrous. 
Flowers 2 - 4 mm across, sessile, pale-yellow in condensed terminal cyme 
Calyx deeply lobed, hairy tomentose 
Corolla lobes ovate-acute; ovary villous, style short, stigma 2 
Capsule12 - 15 mm long, ovoid, apiculate, greyish-tomentose, compressed, viviparous.
